Wherein do you see a commercial use? I can't see it. In general our university is an educational and research and *not* a commercial organisation. This definition is reason enough. In addition I provided patches which are critical for threaded mode of the socks5 daemon. For this download I just want to check if the really latest version has changed or not to see if the lastest security vulnarability has already been taken into account. This has nothing do to with commercial use. You should rather thankful that other are interested in fixing up this software ... I'm afraid that nothing has been done as usual for years. No one at your company was able to prove the patches I submitted and bring up a new release. They are even unable to let the bugreport enter the socks5 mailing list. It's really sad that your company seems not to be interested in to maintain the reference implementation. Just to offering downloads is not enough. Maybe I understand our intention: your company is not interested in to improve the reference implementation because this could prevent "customers" to buy your commercial products. If this is the only reasion you are providing this software I would suggest to cancel your project on freshmeat because there should be software maintained with a honest motive. BTW, what about the other things I pointed out in my first mail? Did you ever read my mail carefuly? When will the buggy web request form (regarding "+" in e-mail addresses) fixed? > > As a reminder the free SOCKS Reference Implementation is not available for commercial use. If you are interested in commercial use, please visit www.permeo.com for more information about Permeo's commercial products. I know. Again - this is *no commercial* use. As far as I can see your defining "commercial use" arbitrary. > Regards, > > Jon Davis > Fulfillment Manager > 214-262-4621 PHONE > 214-262-4646 FAX [..]
